2 months in Mongolia

After a stressful month chasing visas and racing through southeast Kazakhstan I amfinally on my way to Mongolia. Anyone else riding around the Russian Altai or Northern Mongolia area? I am heading from Barnaul through to Ulaanbaatar, crossing the border at Tashanta -Tsagaannuur around June 25th. It's a very remote chance but it would be nice to ride with anyone who is nearby :) Razistan www.razistan.co.uk

Hi Milada,

Hi Milada,
Thanks for your message. You can see my updates and news on my blog www.razistan.co.uk or facebook.com/razistan/, but i will try and also send you any information i think could be useful to you. I already learned that if you are crossing the border from Russia at Tashanta/Tsagaannuur it is only open in the day time and not on Sundays - which is a problem for me right now as my Russian visa expires today - sunday!
Good luck for your trip and preparations:)
Raz

Just a quick warning to be

Just a quick warning to be careful after crossing into Mongolia through the Tashanta border post. There are bandits operating in the region and they have been the cause of a lot of robberies between the border and Olgii. I was beaten up by a man who had invited me to stay with him and his family last September. That put an end to my RTW tour for two months. I don't want to see anyone else fall foul of the same guy so just keep an eye out and be careful on that stretch to Olgii. After that you should be okay again :)
