An experienced world traveller in/near Utrecht (Netherlands)?

Hi together,

I live in Zeist near Utrecht and look for someone who could advise me on the optimal frame size and sitting position.

I have a touring bike which I think is too small for me and would love to get different opinions by someone with experience in touring.

Is my bike indeed too small for me?

How can I adapt my bike?

Or should I get a different bike at all?

I am very thankful for any personal advice!

So, if you have time to meet some day soon, please let me know!

Beers on me! :)

Besser in Persona

Danke Sebastian,

da bin ich selbst auch angemeldet. Allerdings wurde ich super gerne jemanden in Persona treffen, um sich auszutauschen.

Da finde ich das Internetforum nicht so praktisch fuer.

Wohnst du in Utrecht?

Hi Robert Maybe you can ask

Hi Robert

Maybe you can ask on www.wereldfietser.nl , the site for the "world cyclers" , so people who like to cycle.

But maybe it's an idea to go to a good bicycleshop. For example

In Utrecht:
http://www.kokfietsen.nl/
http://www.sneltweewielers.nl/

In Amersfoort:
http://www.sneltweewielers.nl/

Or www.vakantiefietser.nl / www.bike4travel.nl

made in Germany, SilkRoad with Rolhof

Hi Rob !

If you are looking for a solid world tour bike,

I was hesitating between:

T400 FahradManufaktur
and
Silk Road of ToutTerrain.de (german ) with Rolohf.

I think I am going to take the Silk one.

What bike are you going to buy ?

cheers,
Coco

Thanks for pointing me to

Thanks for pointing me to TourTerrain.de. Haven't heard of them before.

Currently I do not need a touring bike. The last one I used was borrowed from a neighbour. And my bike world tour will only begin next year.

So, unless someone is willing to sell me his/her second-hand bike, I am not in a hurry to buy one. :)

Bests,

Rob

we can meet and talk cycling and touring

Hi Robert
I am not located too far away from you, actually i am just over in Wageningen
Preparing for my first bike tour next year around May, the route is still undecided but i will do a practice one perhaps to Belgium or further away depending on the time
For now, i am keen to get a good bike, but not looking to break the bank so anything second hand will do for me as well. I am checking on warmshowers but all the bikes people who have completed tours are selling are located far from me
anyway, we can meet up and talk about cycling when you have time
i will be doing small weekend trips from wageningen during the month of October while i keep hunting for a bike,

see you soon :-)
